😢 Message -Commission FIP for Maximaphily - 10.03.2023
Chers amis,
Nous venons d’apprendre avec une
grande tristesse le décès de notre ami
Gianfranco POGGI (délégué de l'Italie
/Commission de maximaphilie de la FIP).
Nous présentons toutes nos
condoléances attristées à sa famille et à nos amis d'Italie.
Gianfranco participait à de nombreux
jurys en Italie et en Europe afin de développer la maximaphilie.
La maximaphilie perd un des piliers
chargé de multiples connaissances et d'une grande gentillesse.

Dear friends,
We have just learned with sadness of
the death of our friend Gianfranco POGGI (Italian delegate / FIP Maximaphily
Commission).
We extend our heartfelt condolences
to his family and our friends in Italy.
Maximaphily loses one of the pillars loaded with multiple knowledge
and endowed with great kindness.
Gianfranco took part in numerous
juries in Italy and in Europe.

IN MEMORIAM
All'alba dell'8 marzo 2023 è asceso al paradiso il Prof.
Gianfranco Poggi, pioniere della maximafilia mondiale, amico dei maximafiliaci
romeni, ex vicepresidente dell'Associazione Italiana di Maximafilia (AIM).
Nato a Modena (Italia), laureato in giurisprudenza presso
l'Università di Padova (1956), dottore in filosofia (PhD) presso l'Università
di Berkeley (California) - 1963.
Come espositore, ha partecipato a numerose mostre, tra le
quali ricordiamo: il Campionato Europeo Maximafilie (Poitiers, 2014), la mostra
nazionale di maximafilia con partecipazione internazionale EXPOMAX BACĂU 600
(2008), la mostra filatelica mondiale EFIRO 2008. La sua mostra - La prima
guerra mondiale - è stata presentata l'ultima volta alla mostra filatelica
virtuale non competitiva APATIN 2022 (Serbia). In allegato uno dei pezzi
presenti nella mostra: La prima guerra mondiale.
Membro di giuria a livello internazionale, è stato giudice all'ultima edizione
del
Campionato Europeo di Maximafilia.

At the
dawn of March 8, 2023, Prof. Gianfranco Poggi, a pioneer of world maximaphily,
a friend of Romanian maximaphilists, former vice-president of the Italian
Association of Maximaphily (AIM), ascended to heaven.
He was
born in Modena (Italy), graduated in law from the University of Padua (1956),
PhD from the University of Berkeley (California) - 1963.
As an
exhibitor he participated in numerous exhibitions, among which we mention: the
European Maximaphily Championship (Poitiers, 2014), the national exhibition of
maximaphily with international participation EXPOMAX BACĂU 600 (2008), the
world philatelic exhibition EFIRO 2008. His exhibit - The first World
War - it was last presented at the non-competitive virtual philatelic
exhibition APATIN 2022 (Serbia). Attached is one of the pieces present in the
exhibit The first World War.
Jury member at international level, among others he judged at the last edition
of
the European Championship of Maximafily.
